It is with genuine sorrow that we learn this morning of the death of Mrs. J. L. O. Barker, of Coneross, which occurred at her home shortly after 12 o'clock last night. Mrs. Barker was an humble Christian, a loving wife and tender mother, and she will be greatly missed, not only in the home circle, but by her neighbors and friends as well, by whom she was greatly loved for her many excellent traits of character and her constant bestowal of kindness and help to those about her. Mrs. Barker's maiden name was Miss Harriet Alexander, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. S. Alexander. Twenty-eight years ago she was happily married to J. L. O. Barker, who, with eleven children, survives her. Mrs. Barker was in the 48th year of her age, and was the mother of twelve children, all of whom are living except one. To these, her husband and brothers and sisters is extended the sincere sympathy of host of friends in all parts of the county, where she was well known and universally loved. Her remains will be laid to rest this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the cemetery at Coneross, Rev. A. P. Marett will conduct the funeral services in the Coneross Baptist church. Truly a good woman and faithful Christian has been called to her reward.
