Garvin Linsey Barker, 80, of Coneross community, died Tuesday. He was born in Oconee county, son of the late J. L. O. and Hariett Alexander Barker. He was a member of Woodman of the World and Coneross Baptist church, where he was formerly a deacon and was music director for 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie DuBose Barker; two sons, Edwin Barker of Kissimmee, Fla., and Lawrence Barker of Westminster; a brother, Paul Barker of Seneca; two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Brown of McComb, Miss., and Mrs. Oscar Morgan of Pickens; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Coneross Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Davenport Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
