WALHALLA - Robert James Crumpton, 71, of Route 2, Picket Post Community, husband of Inez Garrison Crumpton, died Wednesday, July 18, 1990 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Walhalla, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Alice Cox Crumpton. He was a retired superintendent of the Physical Plant at Clemson University, a U.S. Army World War ll Veteran, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow; sons, James, John and Richard Crumpton of Walhalla, and Gary Crumpton of Salem; a brother, Jack Crumpton of Six Mile; sisters, Mrs. Harold (Viola) Duncan of Mountain Rest and Mrs. Joesph (Elizabeth) McCormick of Morristown, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Billy Bates and the Rev. James Pelfrey. Burial was in Oconee Memorial Park.
Davenport Funeral Home was in charge of Arrangements.
