Met her husband,John Alfred Strohm, while she was a servant in the home of his sister, Rebecca Strohm, and her husband Cyrus Marks. They married, and moved to Carroll, Iowa. They ran a store under the name of J.A Strohm and Company. The origional store burnt down, but another sits in that place.
