Murdered.

Precious Jailyn, your suffering is done, rest in God's own sweet peace. Here you are loved by many - many who wish we had known of your plight.

A Cleveland woman pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated murder.

The mother, 32, left her 16-month-old daughter, Jailyn Candelario, "alone and unattended" in a playpen at her home on June 6, 2023, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O'Malley said in a Thursday release. She didn't return home from her 10 day vacation until June 16, 2023.

She is set to be sentenced in March with the possibility of life without parole.

~~~~~~
On March 18, 2024, Jailyn's mother received a sentence of life without the possibility of parole for leaving her baby alone for ten days while she went on vacation.
On Monday, Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Anna Faraglia presented a PowerPoint, showing the court photos of the mother smiling and partying with friends in Puerto Rico. The prosecution also played a recording from a Ring doorbell camera of Jailyn screaming more than two days after being left at the house alone. The mother lied to police about her vacation, and evidence later showed that she redressed her daughter before calling 911 and police initially came to the scene, the prosecution said.
Message: I found this that was written for her, moved me to tears!
At the sentencing, lead detective T.J. Powell said Jailyn will never be forgotten. His voice quivered as he read a poem in her memory:
J is for the justice that will be received today.
A is for the angel wings she earned on that dreadful day.
I is for the incremental repetition buildup of suspense for a … death that clearly makes no sense.
L is for the lack of love while alone for 11 days.
Y is for a young life that was taken away.
N is for new eternal life Jailyn gained on that day. No child should ever have to die this way.
