Twinki, Twinkers, Twinks. A family member for 14 years. Silly kitty. We miss her. She was a house cat who was always looking to run out the back door. Once she made the escape she always went to the same place... under our RV. After a few minutes she'd give up and run back into the house the same way she exited. We took her camping once. When we were packing up to go home she was able to escape. This one really worried us but after about ten minutes we were able to coax her out of the bushes she was hiding in. So, after that we always had someone stopping by our place to care for our cats when we were camping. Twinki passed away on a day that my family was coming home from one of those trips. I was home first with the RV. Twinki was waiting by the back door for her usual "pettins". After we showed each other how happy we were and she had a little treat she went to her little bed in the living room for a rest. I began bringing things in from the trailer. After a little while I looked at her and don't know what I saw that made me check on her, but she was gone. Sadly, my wife and son didn't arrive in time to say goodbye to her, but I assured them that Twinki didn't leave before she got a lot of loving.
That day something made me alter my routine. We camp at this state park each summer for a couple weeks. On go home day we have to check out by 1:00 and I will either pull the RV to the big beach parking lot and get my bike out or go into town and park and find something to do. This day I decided to go into town (Holland, MI), park, then ride my bike around. I got to the corner where I either turn toward town or go straight for home. At the last second something made me go straight for home. I can't explain why. I wasn't in a hurry, I was looking forward to my bike ride. I'd never done that before, or since. If I had not went straight home then Twinki would have passed away without a goodbye from anyone in her family. I'm sad she's gone but so happy I went straight home that day. What other explanation could there be except that she was waiting for someone before she left?
