Funeral services for Janice Baushke Downs, 61, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with the Reverend Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Downs died January 22, 2008, at The Methodist Hospital in Houston after an extended illness

Mrs. Downs was born July 28, 1946, in Coloma, Michigan, to Malcolm and Mildred Garlock Baushke. She moved to Longview in 1952 and graduated from Longview High School in 1964. She worked for Good Shepherd Medical Center for 35 years as a patient accounts representative. She was a member of the American Business Women of America where she served as treasurer. Her hobbies included traveling, reading, needlepoint and spending time with her family and her cats.

Beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, she is survived by her daughters, Maureen Burns of Houston, and Susan Booth and her husband James of Dallas; grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas and Bradley Booth, all of Dallas; father, Malcolm Baushke of Longview; brother, Duane Baushke and wife, Judy of Carthage; sister, Maxine Wilson and husband, Mark of Denver, Colorado; and a niece, Jamie Wilson of Columbus, Ohio.
