John Westmoreland, 61, were held on Wednesday, November 3, at 10:00 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with Ed White officiating. Interment followed in the Lakewood Memorial Park in Hinds county with Ott & Lee in charge. Westmoreland died on Wednesday at his residence in Pelahatchie following an extended illness. He was a member of the Morton Church of Christ and was a former Rankin County employee.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Odell Westmoreland of Pelahatchie; one son, T. Sgt. Ellis K. Westmoreland of Keesler A. F. B., Biloxi; one daughter, L. C. (Sara) Westbrook of Brandon; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Coley Taylor of Monroe, La., and Mrs. Leora Bradshaw of Rayville, La.; several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Enoch Westmoreland of Monroe, La., and Houston Westmoreland of Monroe, La. Pallbearers were Louie Rector, Arthur Massey, Homer Myers, Buddy Tanner, Royce Cagle, and Jimmy Pace.
