A self-employed contractor, he reportedly suffered an apparent heart attack and fell from a staging. Mr. and Mrs. Kirkey had returned to their home in Florida Friday, after spending a vacation with Massena relatives.
The funeral was held at the Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach.
Surviving are his widow, Rose Fiacco Kirkey; a son, Terry of Olean, NY; two daughters, Mrs. Connie Arnold and Mrs. Debbie Murphy, Liverpool, NY; five sisters, Mrs. Geneva Shoen, Mrs. Lois Fregoe and Mrs. Violet Dishaw, all of Massena; Mrs. Barbara Pike of Pennfield, NY and Mrs. Lillian Ruddy, Rochester and one brother, Virgil Kirkey, of Rochester.
Burial was in Edgewater Cemetery.
