Vincent Michael Konidare, 58, of North Palm Beach, FL, passed away on Sunday, September 19, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center after a lengthy bout with COVID, despite choosing to be vaccinated.
He was born on September 26, 1962, in Miami, Florida and he truly loved being a Floridian, spending many hours on the ocean and was happiest when his toes were in the sand. He fell in love with motorcycles at an early age and loved spending hours riding the open road on his Harley Davidson, Stella. Vince and the family loved to go to the Florida Keys and spent many memorable vacations there, as well as the mountains. Vince was an incredibly kind, amazing, and beautiful husband, father, and friend. He loved his family with all his heart and worked tirelessly to make sure they were always taken care of. He was a master storyteller, and was often asked to repeat the same stories, as they were always as funny as the first time, he told them.
Vince began working at The Palm Beach Post newspaper on June 16, 1985, in the pressroom, and eventually worked his way up into Advertising Production management. He was the go-to guy in every position he held. He always had the answers, provided with that unforgettable smile. It was at The Palm Beach Post that he first set eyes on Jamie, whom he would marry in May of 1991 and was the love of his life. He would talk about the first time he saw her there. Vince retired from the newspaper August 2020 and was waiting for Jamie to retire so they could travel together.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jamie McGuire Konidare, his son Nicholas Patrick, his daughter Valerie Marie (Thomas) Skelly, and countless loving relatives. He also had three granddogs that he adored, Smokey, Lola, and Milo. He was predeceased by his father Gerald Steven Konidare.
