Gloria was born in 1929 to Joseph and Angelina Pellegrino, the second oldest of all four girls. She balanced a career in the city with love for her family and friends. In later years she lived in Homewood and worked full time while caring for and providing good company to her mother. Gloria leaves behind four children: Gail, Renee, William, and
Mark, grandchildren, godson Tom Breault Jr , many nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Geraldine. Gloria's nickname "Coke" was given when one of the young kids in the extended family could not pronounce her first name. I respected her and feel the way many will remember her: That she was loving, smart, funny, and very warm. She was also a very classy woman. She is missed.
Memories of her: The nights she would go ballroom dancing and sometimes she and one of her sisters would be partners. She danced until her feet hurt. She was divorced, but she was one of those women who could easily have drawn a man but did not need one. I remember her home was always open for us to visit; she was NEVER a snob. She showed nothing but love and affection to her godson, Tommy. She was a very smart woman. I remember that she liked the song "Brandy" ("you're a fine girl, what a good wife you would be..."etc). I think of her with affection and I liked her very much. She was always warm and kind to my family and to me.
