Rock Musician. A bass guitarist, he will be remembered for his tenure with the 1970s British ensemble "Sweet." The London native's musical interests were shaped by such groups as Jet Harris and the Shadows, The Rolling Stones and The Who. He performed in the band "The Countdowns" and in 1968, Sweetshop was formed which evolved into Sweet. During the 1970s, they enjoyed commercial success with the hit singles "Little Willy" (1972, achieved Top 3 placing on the American Pop Charts and gold record status), "Ballroom Blitz" (1975) which peaked at Top 5 on the US Pop Charts, "Fox On The Run" (1975, which earned a Top 5 US Pop Chart placing and gold record status) and "Love Is Like Oxygen" (1978) which peaked at number 8 on the American Pop Charts.
