Enlisted on 4/23/1861 in Nottoway County, VA., he was mustered into "C" Co. VA 18th Infantry as a Private.
He was Killed In Action at Seven Pines, VA. during the Seven Days' Battles.

The 18th Infantry Regiment completed its organization in May, 1861. Its members were recruited at Danville and Farmville, and in the counties of Nottoway, Cumberland, Prince Edward, Appomattox, Pittsylvania, and Charlotte.

His wartime letters are the Library of Virginia: Robertson, Littleton Tazewell. Letters, 1861. Accession 23990. 15 leaves. Photostats (negative).
