LIMA — Jeanette M. Spencer, 94, passed away on October 2, 2017, at 3:55PM, at Lima Memorial Health System surrounded by her family.
Jeanette was born September 30, 1923 in Allen County, Ohio, to Luther and Pearl (Wingate) Drury. On October 12, 1941 she married Dale W. Barnes who preceded her in death on January 3, 1973. On July 25, 1987 she married Randall D. Spencer who preceded her in death on February 3, 2014.
Jeanette graduated from Harrod High School in 1941. She was a member at Harrod Christian Church for over 60 years. She worked for Gregg's Department Store for 25 years. Jeanette was a member at Post 1275 V.F.W., and Post 96 American Legion. She loved to play golf and her favorite golf coarse was Hawthorne Hills where she hit a hole in one. She loved spending her winter months in Fort Myers, Florida. She also loved to drive her full size Cadillac FAST.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Dennis(Deb) A. Barnes of Lima, OH, Michael(Carolyn) W. Barnes of Harrod, OH, Pamela (Stephen) Moore of Harrod, OH, grandchildren, Todd Barnes,Vance Barnes, Travis Barnes, Jennifer Brinkman, Brett Barnes, Traci Clapper, Michelle Foster, Jason Watt, 16 great-grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, Louise Drury and Joanne Drury.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Howard Drury, Lyle Drury, Lloyd Drury, Bill Drury, Lois Hefner, Rhonda Motter, grandson, Bradon Watt and great-grandson, Logan Watt.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:00PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor Gary Rummel to officiate the service. Burial will be in Salem Westminster Cemetery following the service.
