(My Cousin) Barraza, Robert "Bobby". Robert passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday, October 8th, 2017. Robert was born to Henry Sr. and Virginia Herrera on May 1st, 1948 and was raised in the Chula Vista neighborhood of South Phoenix. At the age of 17, Robert volunteered to serve his country in the United States Army and fought for 3 years in the Vietnam War at the rank of first-class in the highly decorated 25th Aviation Battalion of the 25th Infantry. After 4 additional years of service in the Arizona National Guard, Robert began his career with the Salt River Project where he worked for 31 years. Robert was a fighter his entire life, whether in war, for his family, or his life. He fought to protect what he loved. He suffered and persevered through many trials, injuries, and illnesses yet he never allowed these hardships to break his kind and joyful spirit. Robert is survived by his wife of 29 years Graciela Ortega Barraza; his 3 sons Jason, Ramiro, and Robert; his two daughters Rene and Lisa; 12 grandchildren; and his 3 sisters, 4 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents. and brother Billie. Beyond his immediate family, Robert was loved and will be missed by countless other family and friends.
