Marion was the son of the late Howard Laws and Lillian (Engle) Laws.

He grew up and spent the majority of his life in Cumberland Gap.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Clarence, Howard Jr., and Walter Laws, sister, Diane Mason, and Great-Grandson, Emory Tipton.

Marion was a member of Faithway Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. He was an ordained deacon since 1963 and a strong man of God. He retired from Consolidation Coal Co. and was a member of the UMWA.

He is survived by the following members of his family:

The love of his life of 62 years, Patsy (Sheckels) Laws

Sons: Donnie (Anna) Laws of Kodak, TN, Randall Laws of Jefferson City, TN, and Mark Laws of Harrogate, TN

Daughter: Robin (Greg) Daniels of Knoxville, TN

Brothers: Raymond Laws and Charles Laws

Sisters: Catharine Rowland, Margaret West, and Shirley Rains

Seven Grandchildren

Seven Great-Grandchildren

Two Step-grandchildren

Special family friend, Beverly Laws

And a host of nieces and nephews

Marion has touched the hearts of everyone that met him and became a Dad, Papaw, and close friend to so many others. He will be best remembered for his love and service for the Lord and his family, and for the countless stories he loved to share of his childhood days growing up in the Cumberland Gap.
