Nugget was not my dog. She belonged to Melvin Brafford who was a neighbor. His family moved to Confluence, Pa. He was a good friend of my husband. He and his father in law came over on day and said Nugget was sick and was going to have to be put to sleep. Where they lived, you were unable to bury your pet in your yard, so they did not know where to bury her. When they lived over here, Nugget spent most of her time at our house with our dogs. So we told Melvin to put her here since she used this as her second home. That is how Nugget came to be in our cemetery. She was a short legged, gold colored dog. She had ears that stood up most of the time and she was overweight. I have no idea what breed she was, but I know she was a real jewel. Melvin has passed away now, but I know he and Nugget are together again and happy, on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
