Troye S. Demaree, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday May 5, 2014. Where she is now enjoying a wonderful family reunion and probably playing duplicate bridge.

She was born April 6,1925 to Hattie Rutledge Swain and J.C. Swain in Strayhorn, Mississippi. While she was the first female innkeeper hired by Holiday Inn and had attained Silver Life Master status in the Duplicate Bridge Association , the thing she would most want to be remembered for was her love for the Lord. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church in Ridgeland and never missed an opportunity to share her faith with others.

Troye is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Demaree. She is survived by her daughter Donna Nead Rogers (Elie) and granddaughter Lucy Paige Rogers of Jackson; her brother, Dr. Ray Lyle (Judy) of Ridgeland , and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, MS on Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm and 10-11am Thursday, with funeral services on Thursday May 8, 2014 at 11:00am.
