He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a former member of the SC National Guards.
Bob was a great and well known carpenter,he worked with Pete Ivey as well as out on his own,building homes,sundecks,and other forms of woodwork.
He was deeply loved and respected by all of his children,and others that knew him.
Bob retired from Torrington in Union after 23 years of service there working in the Production Machinary Dept.He also worked at Union Mill for many years in the maintainance Department.
Bob was diagnosed with emphysema,and a few years later pasted away leaving behind his children, Bobby Gene Black,Jr.,Timothy Wayne Black,Tony James Black,Rebecca Kaye Jennings, and Travis Shannon Black; his grandchildren,Ashley, Chasity, Mary Frances, and Grace Black, Heather, Andrea(Andi) and Jessica Black, Devin Black,Wayne Anderson,Destiny and Larissa Black and his exwife, Frances Kaye Black .
