Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Abbott, 83, former Wagoner resident, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church here.
Burial will be in Whitefield Cemetery with Hersman Funeral Home of Wagoner in charge.
Abbott, born September 23, 1880, in Kansas died Monday evening of a heart attack in a McAlester hospital. He retired in 1938 from the Midland Valley Railroad.
In 1900 he moved to Oklahoma and settled at Chouteau. In 1924 he moved to Stigler and remained there until 1936. He moved to Wagoner in 1957 and moved to McAlester two years ago. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of the home; two daughters, Mrs Angeline Blalock of Glendale, California, and Mrs Barney Lesley of McAlester; two sons, George of Guasti, California, and John of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Mrs R.L. Blalock of Muskogee and Mrs Bob Truelove of California; a brother, John; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
