We hear of a distressing case in the lower part of Granville township, where, within a few rods bordering on a pond, several persons have died within a few weeks. Mrs. Sherwood, widow of Augustus Sherwood; Mrs. Chatham, a boy named Stiles and another Crandall, have died; and as we write this we hear that a Mrs. Crandall at the same place is in a dying condition, while an old man named Titus a relative who has been assisting the sick is also ill (Northern Tier Gazette, Troy, Pennsylvania, Thursday, September 15, 1870).
