Graveside services for Gertraud A. "Gerda" Smith, 78 of Junction City will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Highland Cemetery at 10:00 am with Father Dale Plummer officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St. Ms. Smith passed away, Monday, December 27, 2010 at Village Manor in Abilene. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Animals, P.O. Box 580, Junction City, KS 66441 and or Alzheimer's Disease, 347 S. Laura, Wichita, KS 67211.

Gerda was born July 3, 1932 in Schwabmunchen, Germany to Magnus and Maria Stegmann.

Gerda was an entrepreneur and owned many business through out the years including, J.C. Bar, Gerda's 5 Star. Pla Mor Bowl, Frosty D's and The Palace all in Junction City. She was an avid traveler and reader enjoying every minute of her life to the fullest.

She is survived by three sons; Robert Jaime of Wichita, Milton Jaime and Larry Smith both of Junction City. One granddaughter, Ashley Smith of Junction City.

Gerda is preceded in death by her parents.
