Icey Elizabeth Downs, 82 of Kentucky Hill community in Jellico died Monday, July 14, 2003 at the family residence. She was born June 25, 1921 at Blackstar, KY. The daughter of the late Bernard and Mary Jane Yount Owens. She was a member of the Kentucky Hill Baptist Church. She is proceeded in death by her husband, John Woodrow Downs and a daughter, Brenda Kay Downs. Icey is survived by four daughters, Mildred McLemore and husband, Kenny; Iva Sue Claxton; Jackie Lewis all of the KY Hill Community; Mary Francis Walker and husband, Jeff, Ft Thomas, KY. Three sons, John Downs and wife, Ann; Jerry Downs and wife Margaret all of KY Hill community; Gary Downs and wife Joyce of Elsmere, KY . 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, July 16 at the Cox and Son Chaplin with Rev Willie Partin officiating. Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery. Cox and Son Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
