Based on her birth certificate - the headstone is wrong and year of birth is 1917; although her social security records show 1916. She was the seventh child born to her mother Mattie Hamilton.

Arminda Raye "Mindy" (Bean) Gibbs, 80, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997. "Mindy" was born July 16, 1917, in Commence, Texas, and moved to New Mexico in 1937.

In her early years, she attended Mount Olive Baptist Church in Escobosa, NM, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and song leader. She loved to quilt and crochet, sharing her accomplishments with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and just being around people. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Mindy was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, John Alfred; brothers, Harm and JI; sisters, Ola and Ila; son, Leroy; daughter, Fern; and granddaughter, Debbie.

"Mindy" is survived by: her son, Johnny A. Gibbs and wife, Norma of Los Lunas; daughter, Patsy Joyce Haviland and husband, Thomas of Ventura, CA; sister, Lizzie Warren and husband, Dalt of Brownfield, TX; brother, Henry Bean and wife, Doris of Abilene, TX; grandchildren: Vickie Lynn Edwards and husband, Jeff of Los Lunas; Carrie Renee Patrick and husband, Barry, of Dallas, TX; Marvin Fulfer of Mountainair; Chen Lujan and husband, Francisco, of Estancia; Gary Winton and Larry Winton, both of Ventura, CA; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Johnny Gibbs, Jeff Edwards, Barry Patrick, Marvin Fulfer, Wesley Tiley, and Norvin Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers were: Joey King and Bud Holt.
