--------------------------

Aubrey was a life-long DeSoto Countian, graduated from Olive Branch High School, and then went on to attend the University of Mississippi.

His life was an interesting one..

Aubrey worked at DeSoto Tribune as an advertising representative, a loan officer with the Bank of Mississippi, and for several years, managed Maywood Beach. Heck, Aubrey told me one time he was also a D.J. for a nightclub.

Aubrey loved his community and the people in DeSoto County. He loved serving it and volunteered with the DeSoto County Emergency Medical Services and served as a volunteer with the Lewisburg Fire Department.

Then he found his true calling..

Aubrey went into law enforcement. He was with the Horn Lake Police Department for several years. In 1995, he joined the Olive Branch Police Department and worked his way up to detective.

--------------------------

I met Aubrey, April 1998. He was the detective that was investigating the murder of my daughter, Wendy. One day, I mentioned to my sister the detective's name. She told me she knew him. Next time I saw him, I mentioned her name. He could not believe he knew my sister.

It is a very small world!

During the first trial, his parents came. The court took a recess for lunch and my family asked him and his parents to join us. After the introductions of our family members, his mother asked my mother where she grew up and what school she attended. My mother told her and no one could believe our mothers knew each other as children and even went to school together.
