Mrs. Olive Deaton Rogers died at her home near town, on July 14, after an illness of several years' duration. The deceased was 65 years of age. For more than six years she had been unable to leave her home, but she bore her illness with Christian fortitude. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at Bethel, conducted by Rev. Milas Julian, and interment was made in the cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Fred Rogers, and two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Rogers, Tamassee, and Mrs. Dewey Swofford, of Mountain Rest, and two small grandchildren. The bereaved have the sympathy of many in their loss.
