News of the death of Grover G. Leathers, Son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Leathers, of this place, was quite a shock to his many friends here last Sunday afternoon. Ho had been sick only a few days with meningitis, and in spite of all that physicians and loved ones could do for him he passed away about 2.30 Sunday afternoon. The death of Mr. Leathers was especially sad, as ho was just in the prime of life and a promising young man. He was 24 years old. About six months ago ho was married to Miss Bertha Hill, of Greenville. He had been an employee of the Southern Railway for the past three years, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Besides his wife he leaves his father and mother, three sisters, Mrs. A. C. Burton and Mrs. Brown, of Atlanta, and Miss Eva Leathers, of this place, and six brothers, Reid Leathers, of Kansas City, Mo., A. W. Leathers of this place, Leo Leathers of Atlanta, Aleck Leathers of Tennessee, and Otto Leathors of Westminster. His remains were laid to rest In East View cemetery Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.
