Born June 2, 1907 in York, she was the daughter of the late William L. And Virginia J. McGlaughlin.
Her husband of 60 years, Scott H. Weant, preceded her in death on April 19, 1988.
She was a member of the Deerfield United Methodist Church, Sabillasville, Md. She was retired from the Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown, Md. Her delights in life were her church, flowers, taking care of her family, going to the Gospel Travelers concerts and baking her special raisin cakes and apple pies.
She is survived by one daughter, Oneida Hogan of Thurmont, Md.; three sons, Howard Weant and wife Kyoko of Taneytown, Md., Sirrell Weant and wife Joyce of Sabillasville, Md., and Earl Weant and wife Sylvia of Thurmont, Md; one daughter-in-law, Alberta Weant of Thurmont, Md.; her siblings, Helen Adelsberger of Florida, Walter McGlaughlin of California and Mildred Morrison of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Weant; one granddaughter, Shari Hogan; one great-grandson, Christopher Hobbs; six brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, Md., Thursday, Jan. 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ernie Thayil officiating.
By her request her bearers will be grandsons Timothy Hogan, Richard Weant, Terry Weant, Sirrell Weant, Craig Weant and Mark Weant.
The family wishes to thank her doctors, Dr. J. Lee Krantz, Dr. Michael Lavangie, all her doctors and nurses at the Frederick Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Frederick County for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
