James Joseph Mahon, 88, died at home on June 19, 2009. James was the son of the late Daniel and Kathleen Mahon. He was predeceased by Eleanor, his wife of 59 years, on June 11, 2009, and by his sister Eileen Kiley.
A life-long resident of Yonkers, James attended New York University. During World War II he served Army Air Corps as a glider pilot and instrument instructor. He worked for many years in office systems sales, for the 3M Company in Westchester. After his retirement, James was active in the American Legion, serving as Post Commander of the Admiral Farragut Post 1195 in Hastings. He was also an active member of the Westchester Radio AeroModelers.
He is survived by a daughter and a son, also a grand-daughter and a grand-son.
Entombment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne NY.
