Robert E. "Bob" Wrightmire, 78, of Liverpool, went home to be with the Lord on June 21. He was surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of his home. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and long drives with his wife. He was a man true to his convictions and not easily swayed by popular opinion. He was always known to be a hard worker (tough as nails) with a heart for his family. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and business agent for Laborers Local #40 in Syracuse for many years and a 50+ year member of the Laborers International Union of North America. He was predeceased by his son, Robert M. Wrightmire, in 1999. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Phyllis (Morris); his son, Mark of Liverpool; son, Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Elaine of Mattydale; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Sears-Middleton-Jones Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association .
