Rufus Winchester, 101, Resided with Daughter

Rufus Winchester, 101, father of Mrs. Cathern Hill, 619 Linda Lane, died Friday Morning in Ball Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Winchester was a Kentucky native and spent most of his life in the McCreary County community before coming to Muncie 8 yrs ago to reside with his daughter. He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by six additional daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Waters, Dunkirk, Mrs. Mae Waters, Hill Top Kentucky. Mrs. Artie Troxell, Whitley City Kentucky, Mrs. Pearl Tapley Stearns Ky, Mrs. Lucy Laxton, Lutesville, MO, and Mrs. Ivory Watson, Onedia Tn,two sons; Clarence Winchester, Hill Top, Ky and Winford Winchester, Pine Knot Ky, two sisters, Lucy Anderson Whitley City Ky, and Mrs. Kissie Cooper, Pine Knot Ky, 69 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren. Meeks Mortuary was in charge of local arrangements. Services and visitation will be held in McCreary County Funeral Home in Whitley City, Ky. Burial will be in Pine Knot Cemetery, there.
