Terri Beth Abbey, a former resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away February 16, 2009, after suffering an aneurysm on February 9, 2009. She was born August 31, 1961, in Albuquerque, NM, to Ralph & Kathy Langer. Terri married Jeffrey Abbey of Washington State in 1982, and they are the proud parents of Nichole, age 23, and Garrett, age 20. They lived in Chandler's Landing in Rockwall from 1995 to 2003, where they were a part of the tennis community and attended many sporting events involving their children. Terri enjoyed her friends, reading, boating, scuba diving, horseback riding, tennis, her two dogs and her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter. Her protective dedication to her children earned her the nickname "Mamma Bear." Terri's ready wit was legendary, and her common sense extraordinary.
Terri is survived by her husband, daughter and son, all of Camano Island, WA; her parents, who live in Chandler's Landing in Rockwall, TX; and her sister's family, Tammi & Britt Starnes, niece Samantha and nephew Slade, all of Dallas. This unexpected tragedy leaves a huge void in our lives and hearts, but she is woven into our family fabric like threads of bright gold made from her essence. We will always treasure the time we had with her.
A Celebration of Life will be observed at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
