Born February 21, 1937 in Beckley, he was the son of the late Kenton Charles and Daisy Dale Shrewsbury Grimes.
Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting. He worked for Barker's Junk Yard for more than 30 years. He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Grimes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Geneva Ruth Wheeler Grimes of Mabscott; five sons, David and wife Rhonda and Duane all of Mabscott, Jack Grimes, Jr. of Pocahontas County, Gary Grimes of Boone County, and Woody Grimes and wife Jennifer of MacArthur; ten grandchildren; seven brothers, Ira C., William, Jake, Johnny, Charlie, Lloyd, and Terry; four sisters, Wanda, Pearl, Inis, and Thelma.
David Grimes, Duane Grimes, Woody Grimes, Gary Grimes, Davie Grimes, Joseph Becker, and Joe Bennett will serve as Pallbearers.
