Lee was born to Byron Eugene "Gene" Copeland and Bessie Lee Poindexter Copeland. He was a loving son full of life, and a joy to all who knew him. He was named after both his paternal Grandfather, Byron Eugene Copeland, Sr, his father and his maternal Grandfather, Virgil Lee Poindexter, and his mother.
Lee was anticipating his 4th birthday, when he tragically wandered from the yard, following the family dog. He fell into the river and drowned. He left behind many loving family members, and was older sibling to Ray and Ruth. He is buried amongst Copeland relatives in Shannon community cemetery.
