{{ Henson, J.W. "Last Rites scheduled for J.W. Henson, 86." J.W. Henson, age 86, passed away Tuesday of this week at his home, LaFollette, Route 3. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and a member of the United Mine Workers of America for many years. Mr. Henson was the father of Willie Henson whose body was recovered from Norris Lake on May 15 after a 10-day search.

Mr. Henson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosie Henson; two sons, Howard and Theodore of LaFollette; six daughters, Mrs. Elsie Sowder of Zion, Illinois, Mrs. Edna Moberg of Ellyn, Illinois, Mrs. Lucille Noe of Chicago, Mrs. Edith Gibson of Baltimore, Mrs. Grace Manes of LaFollette, Mrs. Hazel Henson of LaFollette; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Big Creek Baptist Church, the Rev. Theodore Carroll and the Rev. Ernest Goins officiating.

Internment will be in Douglas Cemetery at Newcomb. The body will remain at the funeral home. Cross and Berry Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge.}}

Ernest Gains at the Big Creek Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday May 30, 1958. The casket cost $285; embalming $35 and suit $38 which totaled $360 for the cost of the funeral. The amount was charged to his three daughters; Mrs Grace Manis of Rt#2, LaFollette, Tennessee and Miss Hazel M. Henson of Rt#3, LaFollette, Tennessee and Mrs. Elsie Sowder of Rt#1 Box 1501, Zion, Illinois. The burial Association paid $200 and Elsie secured a six month note from Peoples Bank for the remainder $160.

The Cemetery List revealed Jesse W. Henson (March 28, 1872 to May 27, 1958) and wife, Rosie Jane Henson (June 2, 1883 to May 20, 1971) were buried in the Douglas Cemetery #01 in Oswego, Campbell County, Tennessee.
