The Marriage Bond of November 20, 1899 in Campbell County, Tennessee revealed Jesse Henson hath prayed and obtained a license to marry Rosa Hensley. They were firmly bound to the state of Tennessee in the sum of Twelve Hundred and Fifty Dollars if there wasn't a lawful cause why they weren't married.

Marriage record revealed Jesse Henson married Rosa Hensley on November 21, 1899 in Campbell County, Tennessee.

Jessie was twenty-seven and Rosie was seventeen when they married.

The 1900 census of June 8, revealed Jessie was a coal miner and they rented their home in District 10, Campbell County, Tennessee. Jessie was born in March 1873, Rosie was born in June 1882 and they had been married one year. Jessie and his father were born in Tennessee and his mother was born in Germany. Rosie and her parents were born in Kentucky. Household members: Jessie Henson (27) and Rosie (17).

The 1910 census of April 28, revealed they rented their home in Woodridge, Campbell County, Tennessee. Jessie, Rosie and their parents were born in Kentucky. Their children were born in Tennessee. Jessie had been married twice. They had been married nine years, had five children and four still living. Household members: Jessie Henson (38), Rosie (26), Willie (8), Theodore (6), Gracie (2) and Hazel (6/12).

They were living in Campbell County, Tennessee when their four day old son, Charles died in January 1917.

The 1920 census of January 20, revealed Jessie worked for wages as a coal miner and they rented their home in Plucking Hollow Mining Camp in Jellico, Campbell County, Tennessee. Their children were born in Tennessee. Household members: Jess Heuson (50), Rosa (36), Willie (18), Theodore (16), Gracy (12), Hazel (10), Elcie (8), Edna (5) and Howard (1 8/12).

The 1930 census of April 3, revealed they rented their home for $6 per month in District 9, Claiborne County, Tennessee. All their children were born in Tennessee. Jessie was not a veteran. Jessie was 28 at first marriage and Rosie was 16 when first married. Household members: Jesse W. Henson (58), Rosie (46), Theodore R. (26), Edna (16), Howard (11), Edith (9) and Lucille (5). Rosie's mother, Pauline Hensley lived next door with their daughter, Grace Manis and family.

The 1940 census of April 26, revealed they owned their home valued at $200 and lived in Anthoras, District 5, Campbell County, Tennessee. In 1935 they lived in Rural Claiborne County, Tennessee. Rosie was born in Ohio. They both had a second grade education. Household members: Jessie W. Hewson (68), Rosia (56), Edna (26) and Lucille (15).

They had been married fifty-eight years when their son, Willie (56) drowned on May 6, and Jessie died three weeks later on May 27, 1958.

The Death Certificate revealed Jessie Washington Henson was born on March 28, 1872 in Kentucky. His parents were Jim Henson and Nancy Buckner. Jessie was married to Rosie Henson and he was a retired coal miner. Their residence was Rural #3 in LaFollette, Tennessee and the informant was their daughter, Hazel Henson of same address. Jessie died at age 86 on May 27, 1958 from a three day hepatic coma due to Metastatic Cancer of the Liver in Campbell County, Tennessee. The Cross & Berry Funeral Home performed the burial on May 30, 1958 in Douglas Cemetery in New Comb, Campbell County, Tennessee.

{{ Henson, J.W. "Last Rites scheduled for J.W. Henson, 86." J.W. Henson, age 86, passed away Tuesday of this week at his home, LaFollette, Route 3. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and a member of the United Mine Workers of America for many years. Mr. Henson was the father of Willie Henson whose body was recovered from Norris Lake on May 15 after a 10-day search.

Mr. Henson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosie Henson; two sons, Howard and Theodore of LaFollette; six daughters, Mrs. Elsie Sowder of Zion, Illinois, Mrs. Edna Moberg of Ellyn, Illinois, Mrs. Lucille Noe of Chicago, Mrs. Edith Gibson of Baltimore, Mrs. Grace Manes of LaFollette, Mrs. Hazel Henson of LaFollette; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Big Creek Baptist Church, the Rev. Theodore Carroll and the Rev. Ernest Goins officiating.

Internment will be in Douglas Cemetery at Newcomb. The body will remain at the funeral home. Cross and Berry Funeral Home of LaFollette is in charge.}}

Burial record revealed the same basic information as the death certificate and his age at death was 86y. 1m. 29d. The funeral services were officiated by Rev. Theodore Canall and Rev. Ernest Gains at the Big Creek Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Friday May 30, 1958. The casket cost $285; embalming $35 and suit $38 which totaled $360 for the cost of the funeral. The amount was charged to his three daughters; Mrs Grace Manis of Rt#2, LaFollette, Tennessee and Miss Hazel M. Henson of Rt#3, LaFollette, Tennessee and Mrs. Elsie Sowder of Rt#1 Box 1501, Zion, Illinois. The burial Association paid $200 and Elsie secured a six month note from Peoples Bank for the remainder $160.

The Cemetery List revealed Jesse W. Henson (March 28, 1872 to May 27, 1958) and wife, Rosie Jane Henson (June 2, 1883 to May 20, 1971) were buried in the Douglas Cemetery #01 in Oswego, Campbell County, Tennessee.

Jessie lived to age 86.
