Owen Kermit Beasley, 87, of Seymour passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born on November 20, 1935, in Elnera, Indiana, the son of Willis and Leona Catherine (Stafford) Beasley.

He married Annette Walker, and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2007.

Owen is survived by three children, Scott Beasley of Jennings County, IN, Tina Beasley of Seymour and Greg (Jeanine) Beasley of Rockford, MI; his companion Cheri Fox of Seymour; four grandchildren, Michael (Nicky) Beasley, Ashley Beasley (Fiancé Kris), Alexandria (Lucas) Doty, and Hannah Beasley (Fiancé Ben); six great grandchildren, Skylar, Brianna, Hayley, Charlie, Killian, and Evelyn; one brother, Richard (Jaquie) Beasley; one sister, Judy (Russ) Hamlin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Annette.

Owen served his country in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged from the Army Owen went on to work at Public Service Indiana as a substation construction worker where he retired after forty years. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 89 in Seymour, Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Seymour, and the Seymour Moose Club. He enjoyed working on his farm, boating, and playing cards in his free time. Most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never missed a birthday party for any of his family members.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff from Schneck Home Hospice for the compassionate care they gave Owen during this difficult time.

Funeral Services for Owen will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Voss and Sons Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Seymour American Legion Post 89, Seymour VFW Post 1925, and the United States Army Burial Detail
