Pearl E. Shipman, the daughter of the late Charley Smith and Nancy Norman Smith, was born near Dexter January 17, 1900 and died at the Dexter Memorial Hospital May 4, 1978 at the age of 78.

On July 7, 1914, she married John Shipman in Dexter. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include; two sons, James C. Shipman of Dudley and Jerry L. Shipman of Dexter. One son Charles Eugene "Bud" Shipman preceded her in death. Other survivors include 6 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter begins at 2 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the Rainey Chapel, with Rev. Lester Dale and Rev. Clifford Wray officiating, burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery, near Dexter, Missouri.
