He was born in Morgan City, La., the son of the late William Morris Price Jr. and Cathrine (Moran) Price. He received his associate degree from Three Rivers College in Norwich and Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Connecticut. He was a veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army. He was a Lab Tech at Pfizer retiring in 2002.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church in Groton. William served his Lord through teaching ministries, camp counseling, and short-term ministries in Brazil and Haiti. He was a member of the Groton Jaycees, a leadership organization for young professionals. He authored a few children's books. He had numerous hobbies including home building, fishing, trains, boating, and was known for his original limericks, puns, and jokes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Eric Price and Kenneth (Sally) Price; grandchildren, Anthony (Samantha) Price, Brandon Price, Christian Price; and three great-grandchildren, Ayden, Alaycia, Emersyn Price. He is also survived by his brother Carl Price; and sister Claudette Costa who passed away April 28, 2023; and was predeceased by his sister Cathrine Price.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Community Baptist Church, 950 Gold Star Highway, Groton. Burial will be private at a later date.
