Colene had worked as a nurse, retiring from the Westville Correctional Center. She loved to read and watch football, GO PACKERS!! Colene's favorite moments, were the time spent with her family, especially playing with her grandkids.
Colene is survived by her husband of 17 years, Alan Layman; children: Timothy (Lisa) Abbott of Euharlee, GA and Tammy (Kirk) Ward of Chesterton; seven loving stepchildren; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: June (Dave) Rodrick, Sr. of Kouts and Elaine (Larry) Greer of Hobart; and eight nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Claudine Spagna; and stepson, Jeff Layman.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Cremation will take place at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso.
