KIA at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on July 3,1863 during " Longstreet's Assault " or more recognized as " Pickett's Charge" James was a Lieutenant in the 8th Virginia Infantry Regiment of Garnett's Brigade. His remains might have been reinterred in Richmond, Virginia in the early 1870's along with thousands of other Confederate soldiers who had been hastily buried on the Gettysburg Battlefield or he may still lie in the Pennsylvania soil. He is a relative from my paternal Grandmother's family.
