Irene Dorothy LESLIE — Halifax/Head of Chezzetcook
Age 89, of Halifax (formerly of Head of Chezzetcook) passed away August 10, 2021 at Hospice Halifax. Born on January 15, 1932 , she was raised in Cape Breton and was the daughter of the late Bill and Alice Sampson. Irene had a true love for cards, especially 45's and crib and could be found playing almost every night at card socials with Harry around her community of Chezzetcook. Irene is survived by daughters Elizabeth Ann (Everett) and Janet (Andrew); sons Terry (Inez), Danny (Ellie) and Rodney (Michelle); stepson Bruce (Beverly) and stepdaughters Jacqueline (Don) and Linda (Rick); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by sister Ruby. Irene was predeceased by husband Harry Leslie, son William Sampson and stepdaughter Elizabeth (Ron). Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Monday August 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery, Butcher Hill Road, Upper Musquodoboit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Halifax /Compassionate Closet. A special thank you to the staff at Hospice Halifax for the care and compassion you gave mom in her final days.
