Detective Kristina "Tina" Marie Zell, NFPD, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Detective Zell had served with the Niagara Falls Police Department for over 22 years and was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division. She had previously served with the U.S. Marshalls Violent Fugitive Task Force. She was the recipient the Leo Maj Memorial Award (service to the community) William Gee Memorial Award (distinguished veteran police officer) the Outstanding Detective Award and a unit citation (teamwork in critical situation). She also served the community with Tri Community Ambulance for many years.
Daughter of Gerald Zell and Deborah (Leone) Shimko.
Predeceased by a brother, Jeremy Zell.
