It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing of Reba "Jewell" Conley, 75, of Clarksville, TN. She left us in the early hours peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born a coal miner's daughter on June 3, 1947, in Harlan County, KY, to the late Reba Smith and Samuel Napier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Conley, Sr.; a sister, Nora Russell; and brothers, Larry Napier and Donny Napier.

As a teenage bride, she traveled the world as an Army wife. Her family of four settled in Clarksville in 1979. She became president of Amvets Auxiliary, first in Tennessee, then in Oak Grove, KY. Jewell dedicated her time, talents, and love to the community. Through her association with Amvets, she established the Amvets Childrens Christmas Party for over 200 children for many years. Mrs. Conley lead monthly VA hospital and nursing home visits, supplying prizes, food, and snacks for patients. At the beginning of every school year, she filled backpacks with school supplies and sponsored a FUEL Program. Every spring, she gave 20 military children a $1000 scholarship for their college freshman year. These are just a few things that she did for her community during her lifetime and involvement with Amvets Auxiliary. She loved helping people and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Jewell is survived by her beloved children, Alaina Lynn Conley (Paul Williams) and James A. Conley, Jr. (Kim White); sister, Eva Cheryl Peters; granddaughter, sweet granny bean, Jamie Nicole Bushaw; a memaw to great grandson, Damon James Bushaw, who she cherished; nephews, Joey Peters and Ronnie Hembree; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, July 19, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Pastor Clarence Tapp officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Donelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 19, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Paul Williams, Joey Peters, Michael Sample, Gregory Vinson, Theodore Dunlap, and Johnathan Ogburn.

Arrangements are entrusted to Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, 1510 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040; (931) 645-6488. Online condolences may be made and live streaming of the service may be viewed at www.nealtarpleyparchman.com.
