Shipwrecked in October 1945 in the Baltic Sea; 5 Deceased.

D. 9/10 Kl. ca. 2100 sailed M / S Langeland. from Lohals. Kl. In 1900, L. Hellehavn passed Nakke Fyr. D. 15/10 was found
at Falsterbo 10 Iron drums from L.s Dækslast. On 22/10, the stern was found by a lifeboat, which was recognized as originating from L., landed ashore on Møn's S. coast. Later, two lifebuoys, marked "Langeland", were found on the east coast of Zealand and parts of the deck cargo were driven ashore in Skaane. On 5/11 the body of the driver was driven ashore at Trekroner, and on 7/11 the body of the motorcyclist was driven ashore at Saltholm. It must therefore be assumed that the ship sank and the crew perished. The ship has sunk at 55 ° 22'51 "N. Brd. 12 ° 37'42" Ø. Lgd.
Note 1. The deceased were: Master Gothar Madsen, Grandfather Willy Chr. Jacobsen, Motor- passer Axel Chr. Jensen and the sailors Thomas Olsen and Peter Niels Petersen, all of Rudkøbing.
