C. W. RUSH PASSES AWAY AFTER A LINGERING ILLNESS

RESIDENT OF THIS CITY FOR MANY YEARS DIES AT HIS HOME HERE WEDNESDAY AND IS LAID TO REST

After a lingering illness Charles W. Rush, for many years a resident of New Smyrna and formerly one of its most prominent business men, passed away at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at his home on Faulkner street.
The funeral services were held at the home yesterday morning, Rev. B. E. Elrod officiating, and interment was in the cemetery at Hawk Park.
Mr. Rush was born in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. With his wife he came to this locality in the late 70's and started an orange grove in the Turnbull hammock, about 12 miles from this city. Later they moved into town and Mr. Rush went into the grocery business with his brother. When his brother died several years ago he took charge of the business and conducted it until about four years ago, when he retired because of ill health.
He is survived by his widow and one sister.
