Erma Lee (Midyett) Abney

Erma Lee Abney, nee Midyett, of Davisville, MO passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Washington County, MO at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 26 days. She was born March 22, 1939 at Viburnum, MO to Firman Leonard Midyett and Virgie Emaline Mincher Midyett. On December 29, 1956 she was united in marriage to Devon Abney.
In 1969, she and Devon began their business, Abney's Garage and Wrecker Service in Viburnum with Erma doing the bookkeeping. For many years, they were members of the United Baptist Church in Viburnum until it closed. They then began attending Freewill Baptist.
Through the years she enjoyed bowling in Viburnum, riding horses, fishing, water skiing and being along Devon's side watching him dirt car racing. Most of all she loved all of her family and being with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Firman and Virgie Midyett; three brothers, Lawrence Midyett, Johnny Midyett and Leonard ( Betty) Midyett; and four sisters, Julie (Wilson) Dotson, Lula (Johnny) Brakefield, Beulah Midyett and Lura (Ken) Bazzell.
The Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 and from 11:00 a.m. until time of service, November 23at the Britton- Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 with Rev. Charles Sutton officiating.
Committal prayer and interment will be in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery at Viburnum, MO.
