He was born in Ano, KY to the late Otis and Opal Woodall Whitaker. Charles was employed at Ikerd & Bandy Coal Co. for 25 plus years and he was the owner and operator of Charlie Whitaker Logging. Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife, Linda Adams Whitaker, whom he married on February 18, 1989; he was blessed with a son, Tommy Mitchell of Mansfield, OH; seven daughters, Monica Ping & Steve Decker, Teresa & Donney Nix, Katrina & Eddie Price, Alicia & Thomas Simpson, Toni & Greg Sutton, Tammi & Shane Whitis, and Teeni & Roger Trabish, all of Somerset; four brothers, Donald Ray & Delores Whitaker, of Versailles, KY, Leotis & Barbara Whitaker of Hamilton, OH, Mike Whitaker of Dalton, GA, Al & Dolly Whitaker of Richmond, KY; four sisters, Betty J. Dearborn of Phoniex, AZ, Charlotte A. & Odell Stogsdill of Somerset, Linda Sue & Don Smith of Lexington, KY, and Joyce D. & Orville Ford of Maryland; twenty-one grandchildren, Matthew & Kendra Ping, Natalie Ping, Amber Nix, Caleb Nix, Kraig Price, Tyler Price, Mallory Price, August Simpson, Emarie Simpson, Reagan Simpson, WhitneyWhitis, Cassidy Whitis, Sarah Bray, Joshua Sutton, Zachary Trabish, Tanisha Trabish, Cody Decker, Chelsea Decker, Tyler Mitchell, and Katie Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Braxton Ping, and Aaliyah Ping; Along with his parents he was preceded in death by, a daughter, Rhonda Michelle Whitaker; a sister, Francis Davis; and a nephew, Chad Davis.
