David Knoedler
Cherry Hill, New Jersey
August 23, 1955 - September 26, 2021

David Knoedler went to heaven at age 66 on September 26, 2021, three years after his initial diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He was home in Cherry Hill, NJ surrounded by his wife, Colleen, and children. David was born on August 23, 1955, in Camden, NJ. David loved the Lord and lived his life accordingly. His children were blessed with a Godly, devoted father and cherish his example and guidance. He was a faithful and dependable husband.

David was actively involved in church over the years as a Sunday School teacher, kids' club director and deacon. He loved playing baseball from Little League, high school, and college to adult church leagues and spent many years coaching his children's baseball teams. He was a patient, gentle, encouraging coach and he also became a good golf "coach" to Colleen and many friends. He will be especially missed on the golf course. Besides golf, David enjoyed hunting, model trains, cooking, traveling, gardening, and reading. He loved his 30-year career as a police officer in Cherry Hill and the 13 years he spent with American Airlines as a global investigator.

David lost his father, Charles Curtis Knoedler, at age two and is also predeceased by his mother, Gladys Cranmer and older brother, Charles Knoedler. David is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Colleen Knoedler (nee Schuyler). They met in college and were married in upstate NY. Dear father of Dustin Knoedler (Rachel), Corey Knoedler (Sara), Jordan Knoedler (Jillian), and Brittany MacAdams (Patrick). Loving brother of Robert Knoedler (Annie), Mark Knoedler (Jeanette) and Shirley Dalesandro (Dan). Devoted grandfather of nine grandchildren, each of whom have a special name for David; to Calvin and Sophie he is Gramps; to Schuyler and Hunter he is Doopie; and to Juniper, Lunetta and Holden he is Gump as well as for Fitz and Hollis.

It is with great sorrow that FOP Lodge 28 reports the passing of our friend and member, Brother Dave Knoedler.
Dave was dedicated to his God, Family and Community. Dave served as a police officer with distinction and rose to the rank of lieutenant. One of his proudest moment as a young officer was becoming a K-9 handler. His greatest pride though came from his son Corey following is footsteps and becoming a Cherry Hill Police Officer..
We give our sympathy to Dave's wife and his Sons and Daughter and thank them for sharing Dave with all of us. He will be sorely missed.
Dave's friends know that his spirit lives on and that somewhere behind the gates of Heaven, he is standing with his faithful companion "Tonka" at his side waiting for his next assignment. God's speed to them both.
