Funeral services for Debra Jean Abbot, 37 of Mabank, were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2007 at Shelby Chapel Cemetery Pavilion in Athens with Reverend Dennis Woods officiating. Interment followed in Shelby Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Mrs. Abbott died Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Mabank.
Mrs. Abbott was born July 17, 1970 in Puyallup, Washington to the marriage of Kenneth and Lee Jackson. Following graduation from MacArthur High School in Irving, she attended secretarial school and has resided in Mabank for four years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Gun Barrel. Mrs. Abbott is preceded in death by her sister, Judy Jackson and grandparents, Leo and Billy Seymore and Herschel and Mabel Jackson
Her survivors include devoted husband of 16 years Stephen Richard Abbott, of Mabank; son Christopher Abbott, of Mabank; daughter Jessica Abbott, of Mabank; parents Kenneth Jackson and wife Lee, of Irving; brothers Richard Jackson and wife Connie, of Federal Way, WA, Jimmy Jackson and wife Renee, of Orange Beach, AL, Michael Jackson and wife Lori, of Roanoke, David Jackson, of Keller, and Jeremy Jackson and wife Sandra, of Irving; sister Joyce Tilley and husband Dr. Allen Tilley, of Carthage; in-laws John and Patricia Abbott, of Bagwell; brothers-in-law Kevin Abbot and wife Mindy, and Kelly Abbott and wife Kelly; six nieces, five nephews, one great nephew and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were David Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Jeremy Jackson, Daniel Tilley, Kevin Abbott, and John Abbott. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Jackson and Richard Jackson.
