Early this morning our dear friend, sister, mother and warrior began her journey home. She never really leaves us for the energy she is now a part. She is Sky and Earth. Until. My dear spits fire, you are in my heart forever. Your presence on Earth was of a strong heart. In the sky you send waves of energy into each you loved. The circle continues forever. Your work, walk with spirit, was beyond description. Like a true mother you devoted your being to all and they were fed very well. Your love made us all better. Your strength inspires the 7 future generations as did it our lives. Your work on the "Trail of Tears" connected to Earth and the nation forever breathes your determination and success. Sacred Sites, you protected them as Ancestors and Children. Your life, devoted to your people resonates you through us always. You Ginitsi Selu yielded life on Mother Earth. You now are with the Seven Dancers and we will see you brightly in the night sky, the neverending sky, as you enter that circle of energy we feel you in every heart beat Vicky. Always. Sgi Igido Equah. Agana Galuga. 5:12am in 14 March 2021,

Vicky Garland. There are so many accomplishments that this friend and sister made, it is difficult to list them all. You was a true inspiration to all around her and she was deeply devoted to all her family and friends. She was a true Cherokee and spent her life defending them; teaching their culture; living their way of life and was a sincere and strong warrior. As long as I have known her, she has been deeply devoted to protecting Native American Rights; preserving and teaching about the Trail of Tears Association; an officer in the original Tennessee Native American Convention and has been involved in Native American Nations affairs in relation to Tennessee and the U.S.A.
Vicky gave her life to her people and she touched so many lives. She loved with passion, though if you did wrong, as a Cherokee woman, she spit fire like a dragon, SpitsFire. We loved her determination and her strong heart.
She was a natural born leader. Wado Igido. Osda.

Spits Fire was strong in Indigenous rights and worked diligently on the Trail of Tears recognition and signage, dignified and proper history of her people, and always stood by those she loved. One of the strongest warriors I've ever known and I am glad to have shared the path with her. Walk softly, speak truth and if necessary breathe fire to defend our heritage. As a mother, she devoted her life to all she loved, and especially her dear husband Ricky, son Jesse, and her family. Fly high on the wings of Eagles my friend for those who walk the sky are singing your song. Dance with bears, eagles, cardinals, humming birds, and the plants of the land. The trees sing with your steps now. Sgi Igido, Agana
